Ending their season simply and stylishly is the name of the game for the Cowichan Consort Orchestra and Choir Saturday, June 2.
The big group is preparing a special chamber music concert, with performances by small groups from within the orchestra, at Sylvan United Church on Mill Bay Road at 7: 30 p.m.
The show will include Wagner's Siegfried Idyll, three short Puccini psalms for choir and string quartet, Toni Grant's String Quartet, Bachianas Brasileiras #5 by Villa-Lobos with soprano Kate Rhodes, one movement from Brahms' Horn Trio featuring Margaret St. Cyr, french horn, Kate Rhodes, violin and Ron Kilian, piano, Richard Strauss' Op. 7, Wind Serenade for 13 winds and Wagner's Träume for voice, winds and strings featuring soprano Judith Kabath.
Entry is by donation but it's an intimate venue so be sure to get there in plenty of time.
