Program notes cover:
This is one of the landmark recordings of Villa-Lobos's music. Recorded in October, 1940, the program is based on music played at A Festival of Brazilian Music, a series of three concerts held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, October 16 and 20, 1940. The Festival was sponsored by MOMA and the Commissioner General for Brazil.
