Helix Ensemble Plays Sinfonietta #1Date: 01/15/2011 - 19:30 Location: UK: Countesthorpe Work Performed: Sinfonietta #1 Helix Ensemble Winter Warmer Concert * Helix Ensemble (chamber orchestra) 1. Fuga con Pajarillo - Aldemaro Romero Helix Ensemble returns to Countesthorpe with a warming concert including music in a South American style, by Romero and Villa-Lobos. This theme continues with ‘Rhapsody on a Spanish Theme', a guitar concerto composed by Alan Thomas who will also be the soloist. We conclude with Haydn's last symphony the ‘London Symphony'. Helix Ensemble is a small group of experienced players from the East Midlands who have given many concerts in churches and universities around the region. We will be directed by a Venezuelan conductor, Natalia Luis-Bassa who grew up in Caracas, has conducted the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra and is now a professor of conducting at The Royal College of Music, as well as conducting several British ensembles.
