Roberto Turrin, piano: Maschere
Roberto Turrin graduated from the Conservatory of Music G. Tartini in Trieste, Italy, where he studied with M. Luciano Gante and pianist Lya De Barberis, as well as with Meisterkurse Zofingen in Switzerland. After receiving awards from international competitions in Stresa and Morcone (Italy), Turrin began his career as a soloist, performing in North America and throughout Europe. His tours have received wide acclaim from the public and critics alike. Turrin's accomplishments include duet ensembles with violin and clarinet and recordings for television and radio stations. He is currently on the faculty at the Conservatory of Music G. Tartini. His program, Maschere (Masks) wiill include selections from Debussy, Villa-Lobos, Rachmaninov, and others. (Mr. Turrin will present a lecture about his program on Thursday, March 7th at 1:15 p.m. in Braun Music Center, Room 103.)
