Studio Vocale Karlsruhe For three decades now the Studio Vocale Karlsruhe with its founder and leader Werner Pfaff has enriched the musical world with unusual specialities in the field of choir music. Meanwhile the chamber choir with about 30 singers (the composition of the choir depends on the musical requirements) has developed an extremely wide repertory. For the matinee in the chapel of the Conservatory Werner Pfaff and his songful troop follow the tracks of magnificent Cuban and Brazilian choir music which is little known here. Key 1

Feldkirch Festival 2011 - Closing ConcertDate: 06/05/2011 - 19:30 Location: Austria: Feldkirch Work Performed: Piano Concerto #4 Feldkirch Festival 5th June 2011 19.30 | Montforthaus | Cat C, D, E, F Ronaldo Miranda Celebrare - Uma abertura festiva Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra Last dance in Montfort house! For the Grande Finale of the Feldkirch Festivals 2011 all the hot Brazilian and Cuban rhythms will resound again in Feldkirch's early summer evening. Milhaud's Saudades do Brasil encounter Villa-Lobos' Fourth Piano Concerto: The solo part will be played by the Brazilian pianist Cristina Ortiz, whose recording of the complete piano concertos by Villa-Lobos count as one of the great achievements of recording history. The Rapsodia Cubana, a great feature from Isaac Albéniz' opera The Magic Opal, which had its world premiere in London in 1893, abducts the listeners again to Cuban scenery, before - to the music of the enormously popular Batuque, an Afro-Brazilian folk dance by Oscar Lorenzo Fernandez - this year's Feldkirch Festival comes to a foot-tapping end. Milhaud and Albéniz put the view from Europe to Brazil and Cuba and so they build a bridge to the once again European Topic of the Feldkirch Festival 2012. |
