Juan F. La Manna, associate professor of music at SUNY Oswego, will play both host to Cuarteto Latinoamericano and accompany them on piano.

"We met in school, at Indiana University," said La Manna, who worked for several years to arrange this musical reunion.

He will accompany the award-winning ensemble in "Divertimento" by Gonzalo Castellanos Yumar, another of La Manna's professional acquaintances, who served as conductor of the National Symphony of Venezuela during La Manna's time there.

Additional selections will feature Costa Rican composer Alejandro Cardona's "Echu," Mexican composer Domingo Lobato's "Quartet in G" and the works of two Brazilian composers, Francisco Mignone's "Three Pieces for Quartet" and Heitor Villa-Lobos' "String Quartet No. 5."

Tickets priced at $15 ($12 for seniors ages 62 and over and SUNY Oswego faculty and staff; $6 for SUNY Oswego students) are available at all SUNY Oswego box office locations, online at http://tickets.oswego.edu and by phone at 315-312-2141.
