Winner's Concert
Second Latin American Music Recording Competition
(Fifteenth Annual LAMC Competition)

The Latin American Music Center is pleased to present pianist Daniel Inamorato, winner of the Second Latin American Music Recording Competition (15th Annual LAMC Competition), in a recital on Thursday, March 8, at 8 p.m. in Auer Hall. The Winner's Concert will feature twentieth- and twentieth-first century music by Brazilian and Mexican composers, including works by Lorenzo Fernández, Ronaldo Miranda, Marlos Nobre, Gabriela Ortiz, and Heitor Villa-Lobos.

In addition to the Latin American works performed in the Winner's Concert (see program below), the professionally edited, fully produced CD that Daniel Inamorato will record as a winner of the competition will also include the Sonata (sobre um tema de Bartók) Op. 45 (1977, rev. 2003) and the Sonata breve Op. 24 (1966, rev. 2000) by Marlos Nobre (Brazil, born 1939), as well as the Estudios Nos. 1-3 (2002-2012) by Gabriela Ortiz (Mexico, born 1964). Finally, the CD will feature a work dedicated to Daniel Inamorato, the Danza del Parque de las Acacias (2004, rev. 2008) by Francisco Cortés-Álvarez (Mexico, born 1983), a student of Don Freund at Indiana University. Daniel Inamorato's CD will be available in the Fall of 2012 from the LAMC Recordings website at http://blogs.music.indiana.edu/lamcrecordings/.

Daniel Inamorato is a performer diploma student of Arnaldo Cohen at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He is a recipient of the Barbara and David Jacobs Fellowship as well as the Indiana University Excellence Award. He graduated from the Universidade de São Paulo and has received more than twenty prizes in music competitions in his native Brazil.
