The Orchestra will be offering a musical evening under the stars at Place du 100e, very close to Parc des Rapides. The performance, part of the OSM / Loto-Québec Concerts in the Parks, will be presented in association with SiriusXM Canada. The event is one more in the great tradition of free OSM concerts in parks, presented in some of the most enchanting settings throughout the greater metropolitan area. Designed for the entire family, these outdoor concerts continue to introduce great numbers of people to the beauties of the orchestral repertoire in a welcoming environment. Initiated in 1938 by the OSM's first music director, Wilfrid Pelletier, the concerts quickly grew to be essential events of the summer season. During the summer of 2011, close to 40,000 spectators came out to attend the OSM / Loto-Québec Concerts in the Parks. OSM wishes to thank Ville de Montréal for its generous support.
