Concert Series: Music of Latin America

Thursday, July 26, 6 p.m.

In conjunction with the exhibition, Exploring Art of the Ancient Americas, this series features classical music from and/or inspired by Latin America. Concerts will focus on music of the colonial era and work by 20th century composers inspired by indigenous and folk music of the region. All music is performed by the Chatter Players.

This concert will feature a selection of work for wind instruments by Heitor Villas-Lobos, one of the most significant and best- known Latin American composers.

I will be playing Villa-Lobos' CIrandas #11 - 16. Also on the program are a tenor, flautist, female barbershop quartet, and the Bosque Bassoon Band. Proceeds go to Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless.
