Villa-Lobos Concert at NEC's Jordan HallDate: 10/07/2012 - 20:00 Location: USA: Boston MA Work Performed: Serestas Violin Sonata #2 Piano Trio #2 New England Conservatory Pianist Damien Francoeur-Krzyzek accompanies a stellar group of his fellow NEC faculty and a tenor who is a recent arrival at NEC, in a celebration of Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos (1887-1959). The two instrumental works on this program come from almost a century ago, when the composer was in his twenties, and the songs are from a cycle composed in Brazil in the mid-1920s, in between two extended stays in Paris. selections from Serestas (Serenades) Sonata-Fantasia No. 2 Piano Trio No. 2 Please note, previously announced soprano Lisa Saffer cannot participate in this concert due to illness; tenor Marco Antonio Jordão, a student of Luretta Bybee, takes her place in the song selections.
