Performing Arts Series 2012

Season tickets are now on sale for the 2012 - 2013 Performing Arts Series at the Tubac Center of the Arts. The season opens on Friday, November 2, with Dan Franklin Smith, an outstanding pianist who will play an exciting program titled La Vida Iberiana. Other performances on the Series are the Laughingstock Comedy Company; a remarkable piano/balalaika duo featuring Andrei Gorbachev, the world's star balalaika virtuoso; Walter Belcher, a phenomenal vocalist; Dorian Michael, acoustic guitar, and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra's Percussion Ensemble. It promises to be a most exciting year of music and theater.

Season tickets remain at the unbelievable price of $90 which includes a $35 tax-deductible donation to the Center's programming. Please call the Art Center at 398-2371 to purchase tickets.

Dan Franklin Smith enjoys national recognition as an important recitalist, having been described as "an incredibly sensitive player" with "brilliant technique and emotional fervor." His program, La Vida Iberiana, is filled with melodies and rhythm of Spain including works by Villa-Lobos, Piazzolla and Albeniz. Ole!
