Cello & Piano Folsom Lake CollegeDate: 06/16/2012 - 19:30 06/17/2012 - 15:00 Location: USA: Folsom Lake CA Symphony presents cello-piano duo at Three Stages The Folsom Symphony is proud to present a classical performance by two of its most popular soloists, Susan Lamb Cook and Natsuki Fukasawa, at Three Stages' Scott-Skillman recital hall June 16 and 17. Cook, a cellist, and Fukasawa, a pianist, will play pieces by Bach, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Cassado and Villa-Lobos. Both musicians performed as soloists with the symphony this past season. Fukasawa also performed as a piano soloist in previous seasons, and Cook has joined the symphony's cello section for our Beethoven concerts. As a community partner with Three Stages, the Folsom Symphony is extending its commitment to bring beautiful music to the region by presenting concerts of artists who represent exquisite classical musicianship. Both have performed worldwide and produced CDs. Locally, Cook is the artist affiliate in cello and chamber music at the University of California, Davis, and performs frequently in Northern California. Fukusawa has taught at California State University, Sacramento, and is on the artist faculty for Sacramento State's Calcap Chamber Music Workshop. The concerts will be June 16, 7:30 p.m., and June 17, 3 p.m., in the Scott-Skillman recital hall at Three Stages, Folsom Lake College, 10 College Parkway in Folsom. All seats are $20. Villa-Lobos concert in ParáDate: 06/17/2012 - 19:00 Location: Brazil: Belem Work Performed: Bachianas Brasileiras #2 Song of the Black Swan Forest of the Amazon Concerto homenageia Villa-lobos No próximo domingo, 17, a Secretaria de Estado de Cultura (Secult) promove um concerto para homenagear os 125 anos de nascimento do maestro e compositor Heitor Villa-lobos, com a Orquestra Jovem Vale Música, o pianista Paulo José Campos de Melo, a violinista Roberta Franca e a soprano Luciana Tavares. No programa, 'O trenzinho caipira - Bachianas nº 2', 'O canto do cisne negro' e 'A floresta do Amazonas', entre outras peças musicais do compositor. O concerto acontece às 19h, no Teatro Maria Sylvia Nunes, na Estação das Docas. A entrada é franca. |
