Guitar & Piano / Father + Son

Johann Sebastian Bach, Ferdinando Carulli, Isaac Albéniz, Heitor Villa Lobos, Claude Debussy and Manual de Falla are the composers for this unique concert. The six-string guitar and the 88-key piano seldom give concerts together. And the appearance together of father and son is also a rarity in the professional landscape of music; in this case Werner and Tilman Hoppstock, the pianist, born 1927 and the guitarist, born 1961. The two musicians from Darmstadt, where they both also teach at the Academy of Music, have put together an extraordinarily impressive programme for their Kaiserslautern concert in the Alte Eintracht. Colourful sounds, a broad panorama of epochs and a beautiful contrast of original compositions and their arrangements.

In the foyer following the concert, Andrea Edel in conversation with Werner and Tilman Hoppstock.
