Brazil: Wind and Sea
Brazilian conductor and viola da gamba player Myrna Herzog takes us in an enchanted trip into her native Brazil, through the music of Brazil's foremost 20th century composers, Heitor Villa-Lobos and Dorival Caymmi. Meet the sentimental melodies and contagious rhythms, the full moon, deep sea and dense forests of this extraordinary land.

A new version of this program, with the participation of the Naama Choir (choir-master Pnina Inbar).

Myrna Herzog - director; Macarena Lopez Lavin (soprano) and Ba Freyre (baritone) with Giomar Garcia Sthel (Germany), Alexandra Polin and Myrna Herzog on viols, Sunita Staneslow (harp) and Rony Iwryn (percussion).

"...sensitive, gentle, and totally unconventional... subtle shades and expressive colors defying classification... It is an ethnic-classical music synthesis unique to our time."
Harry Rubinstein, The Jerusalem Post, Israel

"Highly imaginative ... the four Bachianas Brasileiras sound terrific with viols and they're very well played."
Robert Oliver, Early Music REVIEW
